Turnabout Patchwork Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY

Turnabout Patchwork Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY

Posted by on

Today is my day on Teresa's Turnabout Patchwork Blog Hop! I was thrilled to be included in this group of quilters, and I have been dying to show you what I made.

The concept of Teresa's book is really fun. You sew a block, cut it apart, turn the pieces around, and sew it back together to give a completely new look! It's really creative. There are 6 blocks that can make 23 different quilts. I definitely want to make a couple of the other projects from this book!

I went with Shells using striped fabric. I love how the stripes make this block pop. I used a much more subtle stripe than Teresa used in the book, but I still think the effect is evident. Especially as you move in for a closer look, it’s an added surprise!

I can't wait to get this quilt top quilted. I'm thinking a large chevron pattern would be the perfect compliment to the blocks.

You can purchase the book through her website here

Now for the fun part! Teresa is generously allowing us to give away a digital copy of her book. Just leave me a comment below telling me what color you would make this quilt in (be sure to leave an email address so I have a way to contact you if you win)! Winner will be chosen on February 9th and notified by email.

Check out the other blog hop participants to see the projects they made too! There is tons of quilty inspiration below. :)

  • I love the look of red & white but I have been playing with Moda Gradients Stripes which are just delicious!

  • I would definitely make this scrappy from my teal/purple collection!

  • I would use several colors. The area where you have the stripes I’d use a dual color stripe to complement a larger print where you have all the white. I’m not a fan of so much solid empty space, and a large print with a two-color stripe will look wild (just my style!). Plus, with the big print the handquilting will be especially enjoyable. Oh, I have so many ideas! The print I have in mind is a purple, teal, and black butterfly fabric with metallic gold. The black stands out the most so I’ll go with a teal and purple stripe. Bold is beautiful.

  • I have lots of scraps so it will be a scrappy quilt for me.
