If I'm being honest, I never thought I'd be an improv quilter. I am a very type A, enneagram 1, rule following kind of person. The reason I'm so good at quilting is (probably) because I'm very good at following instructions, and I get a little thrill each time my seams line up and my points are perfect.
When my publisher suggested I write something more modern, like improv, I immediately dismissed the idea. I had never even tried improv quilting...how could I write a book about it?
Well, long story short, I wrote the book.
And I fell in love with improv.
My improv journey didn't just start and end with the book. No, I took it a step further and hosted a quilt along where I invited quilters to join me in making an improv sampler quilt. The quilt along videos were so successful, I packaged them up into a workshop.
I don't know where improv quilting will take me next, but I'm looking forward to continuing the journey!
Follow my journey from rigid, rule follower to a go with the flow improv quilter! From the triumphs to the struggles and all the lessons learned along the way, I lay it all out there for you.
