I am so excited to finally share the Wildflower Falls quilt pattern with you!

Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to design a quilt for the Toad Circle Mystery Sew Along. Taylor of Toad and Sew is one of my favorite modern quilt designers, and this collaboration was truly a highlight of 2025 for me!

Wildflower Falls is a fun, twisty interpretation of a friendship star. I love this pattern for its use of negative space and the way the alternating background fabrics give each block its own personality. It has such a great rhythm when the blocks come together!

It's listed as an intermediate skill level pattern, but honestly, a confident beginner could absolutely make it. The flying geese and half square triangles are intentionally oversized and trimmed down for better accuracy, which makes the whole process so much more forgiving and satisfying.

You know I love a good mix-and-match quilt pattern, and I couldn't resist the opportunity to do exactly that here! I also love giving options, so in addition to the mix and match layout, I've included instructions for both fat quarters and yardage. Something for everyone!

I decided to make a brand new cover quilt to officially publish this pattern, and I had so much fun with it. I've been really loving this blue, purple, pink, and yellow combo lately, so it only made sense to lean into it again. (And it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I may or may not have bolts of these fabrics on hand… haha!)

The cover version is the fat quarter layout, made with 16 fat quarters. I used Riley Blake Designs Confetti Cottons in Oxford Blue, Coastal Blue, Dusk, Frost, Grape, Violet, Crocus, Princess, Caramel, Butterscotch, Honey, Beehive, Sugar Pink, Pretty in Pink, Blossom, and Pink Dogwood with Bright White for the background.

For the backing, I found the most amazing Liberty London fabric and I am completely obsessed with it. It fits these colors so perfectly and feels like such a special finishing touch.

I quilted this one myself, so I kept it simple - a serpentine stitch spaced about ¾" apart. The wavy lines are so forgiving, and honestly? It is quickly becoming my go-to over straight-line quilting. I love the softness it adds to the finished quilt!
I cannot wait to see what you make with this pattern!
