Join me from August 21st to October 9 for a Hurrication Quilt Along! This QAL will be very laid back and very casual. I'll be sharing my tips for making this pattern, an alternate way to make it, and cheer you on as you share your progress on social media. I will be making the throw size, but feel free to make the crib or bed size quilt if that is more your speed. If you make a different size quilt, divide the total number of blocks by 5 to see how many you would need to make each week.

The pattern is rated for an intermediate quilter. I recommend having a consistent seam allowance and being comfortable working with bias edges. I will have suggestions to help you along they way, so don't be afraid to tackle this quilt!

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

The Details

  • WHEN it takes place: August 21st - October 9th (7 weeks)
  • WHAT you'll learn: I'll be sharing tips on organizing your fabric, trimming each step, working with bias edges, and a NEW variation that I secretly wish I had written into the pattern, plus more!
  • WHERE to get the information: If you've done my previous QALs, I used to send all of the information by email newsletter. This time, I'll be sharing the information by blog post that will stay on my website so you can refer back to it or ask questions in the comments. I'll still send a weekly email with the blog link and any other relevant info.
  • HOW to participate: Complete the weekly prompts and share you progress on Instagram using the hashtag #hurricationQAL ! I'm still working on sponsors and prizes. Stay tuned for more details on that!
  • Supplies: you'll need a copy of the pattern before the QAL starts. A large square ruler (I use a 16.5"x 16.5") is helpful for squaring the blocks, but not required. I'll share a video on how to use two smaller rulers to trim your blocks!
