Today, I’m sharing about the original Swirlpools quilt! I made this one way back in 2022 right after I released the original Hurrication quilt. I even sent it off for quilting before it sat in my WIP pile until a few months ago. All I needed to do was add the binding!
I loved the Palette Picks bundle Brittany of Lo and Behold Stitchery put together and it worked really well for an ombre layout of this pattern. I went a little rogue and used all 24 fabrics in the bundle to blend the ombre a little better.
To use all 24 fabrics, I cut all of them, and then swapped fabrics in and out until I settled on a layout I liked. Was this an efficient use of fabric? No, but it was a joy to make!
The background fabric and binding is Kona Charcoal. The backing is a print from Art Gallery Fabrics.
